I've come to believe that the true measure of our commitment to justice, fairness, and equality  is how we treat the poor, the disfavored, the accused, the incarcerated, and the condemned.” Bryan Stevenson, Just Mercy

Justice, fairness & equality for incarcerated people and their families is why Until Justice Data Partners and Louisville Family Justice Advocates are collaborating on recommended readings through June, UJDP & LFJA, will focus on weekly recommended readings centering on how more and better justice data is essential for the health and safety of our community, state and nation.

LFJA creatively advocates for healthy & equitable policies for families with loved ones in the Jefferson County Jail.

Its Special Project Team leads art activities especially designed for children with incarcerated parents. Advocates work for local policies supporting the health & social connections.

In the next four weeks, we will present data sources showing how mass incarceration affects people in jails, youth, children and families. We will end by promising new data to inform hopeful pathways to end mass incarceration and its devastating harm. As Brian Stevenson says “Hope is the enemy of injustice.”
